What is Healing?

Healing is a powerful yet gentle therapy which aims to restore health and balance to mind, body and spirit. Healing works with the body's own bio-energetic system balancing these energies, which in turn supports the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

Healing energies are a natural part of the universe and the healer acts as a channel for these energies. Healing can be really effective in relieving a variety of problems, including illness, pain and stress. It is non-invasive and has no harmful side effects.

Healing is also complementary to other therapies and to treatments prescribed by your doctor.  Most importantly it does work. We have asked our visitors about the effectiveness of their healing and we have had very positive feedback.

What happens during a Healing session?

The sessions will be informal and relaxing. You will not be asked to remove any clothing except perhaps your coat and shoes.

The healing sessions take place with you seated in a chair or laying on a treatment couch, whichever you feel most comfortable with. You will be invited to relax and to close your eyes if you feel comfortable doing so. The healer works with their hands a short distance from the body (in the energy field) or sometimes using light touch (with your consent) over a sequence of positions around the body.

You may experience a variety of sensations; warmth, coolness, tingling or pressure. You may feel pain coming to the surface, and then dispersing as healing goes to work. Some clients feel very little but the process is no less effective.

Healing can be deeply relaxing and can have a profoundly calming effect. It is a good idea to rest for a while after a treatment session and drink plenty of water over the next few days. Be responsive to your body's needs e.g. resting if tired and allowing the energy to continue its work in the days following the session.

Who can benefit from Healing?

Firstly, you don't have to be ill to have healing, It is a great way to help keep your body's energies in balance, a bit like with meditation, yoga, relaxation etc.  Most healer therapists do self-healing to 'recharge' their own batteries!

However healing can be given for any illness, stress or injury. Case histories range from the trivial to the terminal in which healing seems to have made an important contribution to recovery and, or quality of life.
